Blue Monday! The colour of our logo makes us feel obligated to speak on this matter and provide you with some information about this unhappy day, including some of our ideas that we will bring to bear on a daily basis to help you get through this day!
About blue Monday
Blue Monday is the third Monday of the full week of January, considered "the saddest Monday (day) of the year". So why is this day so called? Blue Monday was commissioned by one of the PR companies, which - in turn, for the needs of a travel agency - wanted to determine the best day (period) of the year for a holiday trip for potential clients. Involved in this, Dr. Cliff Arnall created a formula that included the variables, from which he calculated which day might be most appropriate for people to buy a trip.

Wherein: W - weather D- Christmas debt d- monthly salary T- time since Christmas q - time since failure to meet New Year's resolutions M - level of motivation Na - need to take action
While the variables used in the formula are largely uncountable, or impossible to translate into numbers, it shows that by mid-January our motivation and well-being are weakening.
How to deal with Blue Monday?
As a 1ToDrive company, we are blue all year round, and although the colour of the logo does not define our moods and attitudes, and the weather does not affect our performance at work, we know how to deal with blue!
That is why we would like to present you with a few suggestions on how to survive this unfortunate Monday!
Conversation: Conversation is good for everything. That is why we start the morning team meetings with a short description of what we are doing today.
Does our friend for example has a problem with the car that makes her feel bad? Colleagues (former drivers) will help her find the initial cause of the breakdown or recommend a good mechanic.
Do such talks make us less professional? Absolutely not, they definitely bring us together! Therefore, on days of low mood, talk to someone close!
Coffee/Tea: It's January. Outside the window, it blows cold and snow is falling. Drivers on the roads linger, are stuck in traffics, or are not prepared at all for such weather.
Go to work early and make yourself a good coffee or your favourite tea. Firstly, it will warm you up on a cold day, and secondly, it will be a kind of reward that will give you motivation.
Reward yourself: Speaking of rewards ... on gloomy days with a low mood, allow yourself a moment of pleasure! Eat your favourite candy bar or order your favourite lunch and eat it in peace, not in front of the computer!
Take a break: Regardless of what country you work in or in what industry, you certainly have the opportunity to take a break. Allow this short time to go outside. In winter, we have a vitamin D deficiency, the sun hides behind the clouds, and artificial light can be overwhelming and tiring, so go outside for a moment. Relax the gaze you focus so tightly on the road or on your computer screen the rest of the time.
Relax: After returning from work, relax as you like. You can wrap yourself in a warm blanket and watch the snow falling outside the window, drink warm chocolate, watch your favourite series, listen to music.
Or maybe you stay indoors for so long during the day that you would like to go out for a walk and feel a bit of winter? Maybe you miss basking in the warmth of the sun and try a warm bath? Or maybe, like most mammals, you will take a nap to survive this cold time? It doesn't matter, the main thing is to make you feel relaxed!
To sum up, Blue Monday is not one day of the year when we feel weaker. If it were so, for 364 days a year the world would be full of smiling and satisfied people, and unfortunately it is not so. Therefore, we hope that what we are trying to do every day will also help you sweeten the worse days!
